An error occurs when upgrading the Endpoint Sensor (TMES) Deployment Tool to version 1.0.1165 in OfficeScan (OSCE) XG

After clicking OK, when you go back to Manage Program, "403 - Forbidden: Access is denied"  error message appears.

The TMES Deployment Tool fails to upgrade in the HTTPS update source. As a workaround:

  1. Back up the DB under C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\OfficeScan\Addon\ESPLS\db\tmes.db
  2. Modify the registry values to upgrade from version 1.0.1160 to 1.0.1165.

    1. Delete the original 1.0.1160 key:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\OfficeScan\service\Aos\OSCE_ADDON_ESPLS\1_1_1.0.1160

    2. Modify the following key value to "7":

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\OfficeScan\service\Aos\OSCE_ADDON_ESPLS\1_1_1.0.1165\Status

    3. Modify the following key value to "1.0.1160":

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\OfficeScan\service\Aos\OSCE_ADDON_ESPLS\1_1_1.0.1165\Version

    4. Rename 1_1_1.0.1165 key to 1_1_1.0.1160:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\OfficeScan\service\Aos\OSCE_ADDON_ESPLS\1_1_1.0.1165

      Rename the key

    5. Modify this key value to "1.0.0000":

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\OfficeScan\service\Aos\OSCE_Addon_Service_CompList_Version

  3. Restart OfcAoSMgr service.

  4. Change the update source to HTTP in the OSCE web console:

    1. Go Updates > Server > Update Source.
    2. Copy the link under Trend Micro's ActiveUpdate Server.
    3. Select Other update source then paste the link in text column and change "HTTPS" to "HTTP" then click Save.

  5. Download and install plugin again.
