iOS agents of TMMS are showing incorrect sync status, last scan time or last connection time. This article provides information as to why the TMMS agents for iOS may display wrong information about the sync status, scan time or connection time.
The auto-sync for iOS is currently not supported (limitation). As a result, the following can happen for the sync status:
- "In-sync" is always displayed even if the device is turned off.
- Sync status changes (e.g. changes to out-of-sync) when a policy change happens, but the device is currently disconnected from the TMMS server (e.g. turned-off, no internet connection, etc).
The auto-sync limitation for iOS also affects the "last scan time" and "last connection time". These have no automatic triggers and can only be updated by having any communication between the device and the TMMS server (such as sync, scan, device information report), and they also cannot be updated by rebooting the device.
The "time" recorded, for last scan and last connection, is related only with the TMMS server and device. TMMS cannot get the connection time from 3rd-party MDM solutions, such as AirWatch or MobileIron.
