Summary

Grayware refers to applications that have annoying, undesirable, or undisclosed behavior but do not fall into any of the major threat categories such as Virus, Trojan, and Worm. Spyware falls under the Grayware category. It is an application that monitors, gathers personal information, and sends to a third party without the user’s knowledge or consent.

There are instances wherein a user’s application is detected as Spyware/Grayware. In the event that the application is verified to be malicious, the detection cannot be lifted. Learn how to exclude Spyware/Grayware detections in different Trend Micro products.
