Trend Micro has received some reports regarding machine freeze cases after applying the recently released OfficeScan 11.0 Service Pack 1 Critical Patch 6583 (i.e. Windows 10 October 2018 Update supporting patch). The original package was removed from Trend Micro’s Download Center on December 6 for further investigation.
The root cause of the issue has been identified and corrected, and Critical Patch 6583 will be repacked and republished on December 17, 2018.
Workaround
Until the updated patch is available, those who have encountered the machine freeze issue may take the following steps as a workaround:
- Open ofcscan.ini on the OfficeScan server in a text editor.
- Add the following strings in the [Global Setting] section and save ofcscan.ini:
