Worry-free Active Update folder consumes large disk space

Summary
The Worry-free Business Security server's ...\PCCSRV\wss\activeupdate\ folder consumes large disk space - up to 84GB. How can you clean up the uncessary files that are consuming a lot of disk space and keep only the latest files? Also how can you prevent the server from storing too many update and log files?

To remove the unecessary files and free up disk space:

1. Use the Disk Cleaner tool to automatically remove backup files, log files and unused pattern files.
2. Manually delete the pattern files that the tool failed to remove.

a. Remove all files in the "..\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\activeupdate" folder Remove "..\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\conf\db1* Remove "..\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\conf\db2* Remove "..\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\conf\attr*

(**Note: there might be some files which prefix is "db", example: db1-shm, db1-wal, db2-shm and db2-wal exist in the folder, please remove all of them)

b. Copy "..\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\support\db1" to "..\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\conf\db1" Copy "..\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\support\db2" to "..\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\conf\db2" Copy "..\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\support\attr" to "..\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\conf\attr"

c. Open a command prompt with administrator privilege.
d. Switch the directory to PCCSRV\WSS\spsc\bin.
e. Execute the following:

activeindex -i
attributetool -i

f. Make sure there is at least 5GB free disk space
g. Trigger manual update of the security server.


To Decrease the number of patterns stored by Worry-Free:

a. Go to the ..\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\ folder.
b. Open the UpdatePattern.ini file using a text editor like Notepad.
c. Under [GenBFDiff] section, change the following values:
MaxDiff = 12
KeepPtn = 4

d. Save and close the file.

4. Manually delete the content of the following folders (BUT keep the latest 2 patterns)
..\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\pattern\crcz
..\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\pattern\itbl

5. Perform a manual update of the Worry-free Security Server
