As web security solution, IWSVA offers several deployment modes as virtual appliance.
This article is to address a special case when IWSVA is installed on Microsoft Hyper-V and deployed in Transparent Bridge mode.
As an official validation of this major product release, the Trend Micro team has tested the following case which is supported:
- IWSVA can be installed as a virtual server on a Microsoft Hyper-V virtual environment.
- IWSVA can be installed and deployed as a single bridge network (one ingress, one egress with virtual ports accordingly) in a transparent bridge deployment mode.
However, we received an inquiry for “multiple-link” installation upon the previous point:
Support and extend this scenario to multiple bridge networks (“more than 1/ingress-1/egress”) within one IWSVA server (in one HyperV virtual instance).
Current product support:
After our validation, this use case (not listed in the product's Administrator Guide) was not recommended and supported.
The configuration may cause unexpected drops of network performance.
We urge customer not to deploy IWSVA with this configuration.
Customers should look forward to other deployment and installation options as suggested by the Trend Micro engineering and support teams.
