URL Filtering engine version appears as "Not available" on multiple servers under ScanMail for Exchange (SMEX) 12.0

Summary

When having multiple servers, the URL Filtering Engine version may appear as "Not available" in the Control Panel on some of the servers. Upon checking the management console, some may appear as “0”. When trying to update each one manually, the download stops indefinitely.

This problem may have been caused by a corrupted installation of the engine. It is stored in this location:

C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Smex\engine\TMUFE

To fix this problem:

  1. Rename the “tmufeng.dll” files to “tmufengOLD.dll “ on the folders "latest", "primary", and "secondary".
  2. Restart the SMEX Master Service.
  3. Remove the contents from the tmudump.txt before running another manual update.
