To ensure that the WFBS Server stays protected against the latest threats, you should regularly perform updates. You can configure the Security Server to perform manual and scheduled updates. Do either of the following:
- Log on to the WFBS console.
- Click Updates > Manual.
- In the Manual Update screen, select the components that you want to update. Click the plus [+] buttons to show the detailed components. To update all components, select the Components check box.
- Click Update Now.
- Click OK when the confirmation message appears. A window shows the progress of the update.
- When the update is complete, click Close. The Security Server will automatically deploy the new components to the Client/Server Security Agents.
- Log on to the WFBS console.
- Click Updates > Scheduled.
- Under Components tab, make sure that all components are selected. Otherwise, you may check the components you want to include on the scheduled update.
You may uncheck components that are not relevant or needed for component updates. Do this when there is a need to limit your bandwidth.
- Go to the Schedule tab and specify the update schedule.
- Conventional Scan Updates include all components, except the Smart Scan Pattern and Smart Scan Agent Pattern. Choose between Hourly, Daily, Weekly, and Monthly updates, and then specify a value for Update for a period of, which is the number of hours during which the Security Server will perform the update. The Security Server updates at any given time during this time period.
For monthly scheduled updates (not recommended), if you select 31, 30, or 29 days and a month has less than the number of days, the update will not run for that month.
- Smart Scan Updates include only the Smart Scan Pattern and Smart Scan Agent Pattern. Choose between Hourly or every 15 minutes. If none of your agents use smart scan, disregard this item.
