Why use the SCUT Tool?
The SCUT tool is a powerful and efficient solution to common issues encountered when removing Apex One agents. Here are some of the situations where the tool may come in handy:
- When the agent is corrupted, and the traditional method of removal fails
- When the uninstall password is forgotten
- When the agent is lost and cannot be removed without a password
- When an older version of the agent needs to be removed before installing a new version
- When the agent cannot be upgraded, and a replacement with a new version is needed
Follow the step-by-step guide below to download and utilize the SCUT tool:
- Log in to the Business Support Portal using your account credentials to access the SCUT tool.
- Click Your Username on the top right and then click Dashboard.

- On the left pane, click Diagnostic Tools, and go to "Other Tools" section.
- Click the ZIP file link icon to initiate the download process.

- Extract the contents of the downloaded ZIP file to your preferred directory.
- Depending on your version of Apex One, copy the Apex One folder to the affected machine.
- On the affected machine, open Command Prompt as an administrator and navigate to the directory where the Apex One folder is located.
- Run the SCUT Tool using either of the following commands:
SCUT.exe -noinstall (for silent removal)
SCUT.exe -noinstall -dbg (to show the running procedures)
- Wait for the uninstall process to complete, and reboot the machine when prompted. You can then attempt to install the agent again.
