To install the OfficeScan or Apex One agent to an unprotected endpoint using AutoPcc:
- Go to the unprotected endpoint.
- Connect to the server computer.
- Open Run and type:
\\<OfficeScan or Apex One server fqdn>\ofcscan
The screenshot above is just an example. - Right-click AutoPcc.exe and select "Run as administrator".
This will launch the autopcc.exe command and will install the OfficeScan or Apex One agent.
For remote desktop installation using AutoPcc.exe:
- Open Remote Desktop Connection (Mstsc.exe) in console mode.
- Connect to the unprotected enpoint using a remote desktop.
- Open Run and type:
\\<OfficeScan or Apex One server fqdn>\ofcscan directory and execute AutoPcc.exe.
- Right-click AutoPcc.exeand select "Run as administrator".
This will launch the autopcc.exe command and will install the OfficeScan or Apex One agent.
- Symptom: Getting the error “Unable to install OfficeScan or Apex One client. There was an error copying ‘xxxxx.exe’. Please contact your OfficeScan or Apex One Agent administrator assistance”when installing via autopcc.exe.
Cause: Files have been renamed. To check if there are _invalid files inside the OfficeScan or Apex One server, go to <OfficeScan or Apex One Installation folder>\PCCSRV\ and type "invalid" in the search bar.
Solution: Restore the renamed file to its original file name. Please refer to the following KB article: Restoring the renamed "_invalid" files using Windows Powershell in OfficeScan.
- Symptom: In ofcAutoPcc.log located in C:\Windows, you can see the following error:
CheckDeleteMark - CheckDeleteMark==OpenService(ntrtscan) failed. Error=1060 - [.\autop_AutoPccP.cpp(1206)]
Cause: Files are missing from the OfficeScan or Apex One server. Check if you can search the file/s that "cannot be copied" in ...\<OfficeScan or Apex One installation folder>\PCCSRV by typing the file name in the search bar.
Solution: Contact Trend Micro Technical Support to obtain the files that are missing.
