- Customer receives an email containing Trend Micro licenses from Licensing or Sales team. It contains the activation link. Click the link.
- Activation link will open to Trend Vision One portal. Click Activate the license under my registered business.
- Input username or email address under “Activate Solutions for Your Registered Business”.
- Input password for the currently existing CLP account with the managed Trend Micro products.
- Tick on the check box to agree with the terms and click Activate to activate available licenses.
- Customer will be given an option to update to Foundation.
Click I Agree to Update.
If customer selects Not Now, refer to the following:- Customer agrees to update to Foundation.
- A System Update Notice is shown. Click Start update.
- Upgrade path will depend on the following conditions:
- ID format (Is it an email address or not?)
- Account is Foundation IAM local user (Y/N)
- Account is same or not same as Cloud One account
- Below are 4 upgrade paths when agreeing to update to Trend Vision One:
- The login ID is not an email address.
- (Step 1 of registration process) Trend Vision One console will ask for an email address to sign in. Input the email then click Verify Email.
- Customer will receive an email with a verification code.
- (Step 2 of registration process) Input Verification code and click Submit.
- (Step 3 of registration process) Input a new password, confirm it then click Reset Password.
- If MFA is disabled in Trend Vision One, it will show a successful password update.
If MFA is enabled in Trend Vision One, it will give an option to disable or leave MFA as enabled.
- Wait while it updates to Foundation Account and activates licenses.
- There are 2 possible results depending on the licenses:
If licenses contain Enterprise products only, it will show “Activation Successful” status and system will send a confirmation email containing the activation details.If licenses contain SMB products, it will show “Activation successful” and gives option to access Trend Vision One portal or Customer Licensing Portal (CLP) to manage the activated solutions.
Note: When choosing Customer Licensing Portal, it will still have an option to access Trend Vision One console within it.
- A confirmation email will be received containing the activated Trend Micro products.
- Sign into Trend Vision One console.
- The login ID is an email address.
- Account is not Foundation IAM local User.
- Account is not the same as a Cloud One account.- Trend Vision One will prompt to update the password with new and confirm password fields. Click Reset Password.
- If MFA is disabled in Trend Vision One, it will show a successful password update.
If MFA is enabled in Trend Vision One, it will give an option to disable or leave MFA as enabled.
- Wait while it updates to Foundation Account and activates licenses.
- There are 2 possible results depending on the licenses.
If licenses contain Enterprise products only, it will show “Activation Successful” status and the system will send a confirmation email containing the activation details.If licenses contain SMB products, it will show “Activation successful” and gives option to access Trend Vision One portal or Customer Licensing Portal (CLP) to manage the activated solutions.
Note: When choosing Customer Licensing Portal, it will still have an option to access Trend Vision One console within it.
- A confirmation email will be received containing the activated Trend Micro products.
- Sign into Trend Vision One console.
- The login ID is an email address.
- Account is not Foundation IAM local User.
- Account is the same as a Cloud One account.- Trend Vision One console will inform customer that the existing Cloud One account matches the primary user account for Trend Vision One, and will require to specify the Cloud One password to merge the 2 accounts. Click Next.
- If MFA is disabled in Trend Vision One, it will show a successful password update.
If MFA is enabled in Trend Vision One, it will give an option to disable or leave MFA as enabled.
- Wait while it updates to Foundation Account and activates licenses.
- There are 2 possible results depending on the licenses.
If licenses contain Enterprise products only, it will show “Activation Successful” status and the system will send a confirmation email containing the activation details.If licenses contain SMB products, it will show “Activation successful” and gives option to access Trend Vision One portal or Customer Licensing Portal (CLP) to manage the activated solutions.

- There are 2 possible results depending on the licenses.
If licenses contain Enterprise products only, it will show “Activation Successful” status and the system will send a confirmation email containing the activation details.If licenses contain SMB products, it will show “Activation successful” and gives option to access Trend Vision One portal or Customer Licensing Portal (CLP) to manage the activated solutions.
Note: When choosing Customer Licensing Portal, it will still have an option to access Trend Vision One console within it. - A confirmation email will be received containing the activated Trend Micro products.
- Sign into Trend Vision One console.
- Customer does not agree to update to Foundation.
- Click Not now on the "Unlock new centralized platform capabilities by updating Trend Vision One" screen.
- Wait for the license activation process.
- There are 2 possible results depending on the licenses.
If licenses contain Enterprise products only, it will show “Activation Successful” status and system will send a confirmation email containing the activation details. If licenses contain SMB products, it will show “Activation successful” and gives option to access Trend Vision One portal or Customer Licensing Portal (CLP) to manage the activated solutions. - A confirmation email will be received containing the activated Trend Micro products.
- Choose a Region for Trend Vision One console.
- Wait for the provisioning process to finish.
- After provisioning, it will show Product License Information on Trend Vision One console to confirm the Trend Micro product licenses activated. There will be a promotion banner for updating Trend Vision One (Poseidon to Foundation). User can close the promotion banner. The promotion banner will show again when user logs in the next time.
Updating from Poseidon to Foundation when Trend Vision One Email and Collaboration Security licenses are activated:
- Click Go to Console settings on the banner for updating Trend Vision One console.
- Click I Agree to update under "Unlock new centralized capabilities by updating Trend Vision One". If the user who logged in Trend Vision One is not the User, then permission to update Trend Vision One console will not be given. The update can be initiated on the console settings.
- A System Update Notice would be shown. Click Start the update.
Below are 3 upgrade paths when customer did not choose to upgrade to Foundation. Note that to use Trend Vision One Email and Collaboration Security, customer must upgrade from Poseidon to Foundation.
- Then login ID is not an email address.
- (Step 1 of registration process) Trend Vision One console will ask for an email address to sign in. Input the email then click Verify Email.
- A system generated email would be sent to customer containing a verification code.
- (Step 2 of registration to Trend Visio One) Input verification code and click Submit.
- (Step 3 of registration to Trend Vision One) Input new password, confirm it and click Reset Password.
If MFA is disabled in Trend Vision One, it will show a successful password update.
If MFA is enabled in Trend Vision One, it will give an option to disable or leave MFA as enabled.
- Sign in to Trend Vision One console using the registered email address.
- Then login ID is an email address.
- Account is not the same as Cloud One account.- Trend Vision One console will require a password reset.
If MFA is disabled in Trend Vision One, it will show a successful password update.
If MFA is enabled in Trend Vision One, it will give an option to disable or leave MFA as enabled.
- Wait while it updates to Foundation Account and activates licenses.
- Sign in to Trend Vision One console.
- Then login ID is an email address.
- Account is the same as Cloud One account.- Trend Vision One console will inform customer that the existing Cloud One account matches the primary user account for Trend Vision One, and will have to specify the Cloud One password to merge the 2 accounts.
- It will depend if MFA was enabled on Cloud One.
If MFA is enabled on Cloud One, the customer is be required to input MFA verification code. Click Next.If MFA is disabled on Cloud One, input new password, confirm it then click Reset Password.
If MFA is disabled in Trend Vision One, it will show a successful password update.
If MFA is enabled in Trend Vision One, it will give an option to disable or leave MFA as enabled.
- Wait while it updates to Foundation Account and activates licenses.
- Sign in to Trend Vision One console.
- Customer agrees to update to Foundation.
- Sign in to Trend Vision One console using the email address registered.
- Wait for Trend Vision One update to finish.
- Trend Vision One console will share what is updated on the Foundation account.
- Navigate to Email and Collaboration Security Operation > Email Account Inventory.
It will lead to page in where customer can provision “Cloud Email and Collaboration Protection” and “Email Gateway Protection”.
