TippingPoint® Entitlements Trust model.
The Entitlement trust model for TippingPoint products allows customers to use any of the Threat Management Center (TMC) services with the expectation that they will abide by their service contract. This process is known as a trust-based model approach. With the Entitlement Trust model, the only way that support would be interrupted would be if the “Entitlements Team” blocks a device or if the customer’s SMS servers cannot communicate with TMC, and their license package is over six months old with an expired contract.
There should be no impact as long as the SMS server can communicate with TMC. If the SMS can’t communicate with TMC, the customer needs to download a new license package file from TMC and manually install it on the SMS at least once every six months. The Trust Model applies to subscriptions. The entitlement system never automatically expires a subscription. Every six months, the TMC team creates a new entitlement package and extends the subscription expiration date. Even if customers are not current on maintenance, they will not be removed from subscriptions.
