After applying Patch 2514, affected users need to rebuild the Smart Scan Protection Services Database using the script mentioned below.
 

Rebuilding Smart Scan Protection Services Database Using Script

  1. Download the rebuild_smart_scan_v3.zip.
     
    Once extracted, rebuild_smart_scan_db.exe and KA0018987.zip should be on the same folder
     
  2. Open Command Prompt with Administrator Permission.
  3. Go to the folder "rebuild_smart_scan_v3.zip " was extracted
    cd “<extracted folder>\rebuild_smart_scan_v3
  4. Run command “rebuild_smart_scan_db.exe”.
  5. After running the command, “rebuild_smart_scan_db.exe” wait for process to complete and verify if the issue persists when prompted with the following:

    Should there be Any issues, collect rebuild_smartscan_db_debug.log and submit it to Trend Micro Technical Support

     
    rebuild_smartscan_db_debug.log will appear on the same folder where you ran the tool.
