Starting with the April 2025 release of Deep Security, new Deep Security Manager (DSM) deployments obtained from AWS Marketplace will use Amazon Linux 2023 as the operating system. As AWS plans to end support for Amazon Linux 2, you will no longer be able to purchase Deep Security with Amazon Linux 2 from AWS Marketplace. If you deployed DSM on Amazon Linux or Amazon Linux 2, you must upgrade to Amazon Linux 2023. The one-click upgrade will not be available for these upgrades because there is no in-place upgrade support from Amazon Linux to Amazon Linux 2023 nor Amazon Linux 2 to Amazon Linux 2023. You will have to perform a manual upgrade by following instructions in the Help Center article, Upgrade Deep Security Manager AMI: Perform a manual upgrade.
The timeline for the end of one-click upgrade support is as follows:
Operating System | End of One-Click Upgrade Support |
---|---|
Amazon Linux 2023 | Support will continue until AWS announces its EOL. |
Amazon Linux 2 | One-click support will end on June 30, 2026. This date is aligned with the AWS announcement. |
Amazon Linux | One-click support ended on December 31, 2023. |
