Impact
- This issue is Windows only.
- The Notifier incorrectly displays the status of the Agent. There is no security impact, and the Agent continues to protect the host as expected.
- If the agent self-protection was enabled previously, the Agent cannot be upgraded because it fails to stop the Notifier.
Workaround
To mitigate the issue, restart the Agent service for a temporary workaround.
Apply the following steps in order:
- Ensure the Agent self-protection is disabled.
- Restart the Agent service manually.
However, the issue may still occur when Endpoint Basecamp restarts itself or becomes unresponsive for any reason. If so, please restart the Agent service within a period of time.
Solution
The fix to address the display issue is scheduled to be included in the upcoming release: Deep Security 20 LTS Update 2026-01. If your agents encounter the upgrade issue mentioned above, please apply the workaround and try upgrading again.
