Impact

  • This issue is Windows only.
  • The Notifier incorrectly displays the status of the Agent. There is no security impact, and the Agent continues to protect the host as expected.
  • If the agent self-protection was enabled previously, the Agent cannot be upgraded because it fails to stop the Notifier.

Workaround

To mitigate the issue, restart the Agent service for a temporary workaround.

Apply the following steps in order:

  1. Ensure the Agent self-protection is disabled.
  2. Restart the Agent service manually.

However, the issue may still occur when Endpoint Basecamp restarts itself or becomes unresponsive for any reason. If so, please restart the Agent service within a period of time.


Solution

The fix to address the display issue is scheduled to be included in the upcoming release: Deep Security 20 LTS Update 2026-01. If your agents encounter the upgrade issue mentioned above, please apply the workaround and try upgrading again.
