What’s Happening

A startup issue introduced in the August build can prevent the XDR sensor component from activating on the endpoint. Reinstalling the agent or rebooting does not resolve it, since the issue can recur on the next startup.

Who Is Affected

This affects instances that received the August build where the XDR Endpoint Sensor (build 1.2.0.7729) is enabled.

Impact Scope

While affected, the endpoint is not sending XDR/EDR telemetry — this is a monitoring gap for that endpoint, not delayed data delivery. Real-time protection modules (e.g., Advanced Risk Telemetry) are unaffected. Telemetry resumes once the sensor is active again; it is not backfilled for the affected period.

Resolution Status

Root cause identified. An out-of-band fix is being rolled out to all affected instances on August 20, 2026.

Due to this issue, August Batch 3 regular maintenance for Japan and Europe regions has been postponed from August 19 to August 20 to include this fix.
