If you change the port numbers used by the various services on the IPS/TPS, the IPS/TPS will require at least a soft reboot to enable the new port.

As an example, if you change the SYSLOG default port of 514, to another port number, the IPS/TPS will require a soft reboot to enable the change.

 

  • CLI command for a soft reboot: reboot
  • CLI command for a hard reboot: reboot -full
