Summary
TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) have a factory installed and configured “default” profile (assigned to all segments) that will process traffic with filters set to“category” settings.  These settings will block or permit traffic in accordance with the filter posture.  This behavior is there to protect the network from malicious traffic even without the IPS being configured.
