Summary
A snapshot enables you to restore a device to a previously known working state. You cannot work with snapshots from the LSM while the device is under SMS control.
Details
To Create a New Snapshot:
- Log in to the LSM using an account with Administrator/SuperUser privileges.
- Access the Snapshot menu by browsing to System > Update > System Snapshots.
- Enter a name for the snapshot into the Snapshot Name field under "Create Snapshot".
- Click the "Create" / "Create Snapshot" button. (The snapshot is stored locally on the device and will be added to the "Current Snapshot" list.
- To download the snapshot to another location click Export.
To Restore a Snapshot:
- Log in to the LSM using an account with Administrator/SuperUser privileges.
- Access the Snapshot menu by browsing to System > Update > System Snapshots.
- Choose the snapshot you would like to restore from the "Current Snapshots" list and click the "Restore"
- Click OK to confirm the restore.
Note: The restore will cause the IPS to reboot and will disrupt network traffic.
To Delete a Snapshot:
- Select the Snapshot and click "Delete".
- Confirm the delete by selecting "OK".
