How Do I Create, Restore or Delete a Snapshot Using the LSM?

Summary
A snapshot enables you to restore a device to a previously known working state. You cannot work with snapshots from the LSM while the device is under SMS control.

To Create a New Snapshot:

  1. Log in to the LSM using an account with Administrator/SuperUser privileges.
  2. Access the Snapshot menu by browsing to System > Update > System Snapshots.
  3. Enter a name for the snapshot into the Snapshot Name field under "Create Snapshot".
  4. Click the "Create" / "Create Snapshot" button.  (The snapshot is stored locally on the device and will be added to the "Current Snapshot" list.
  5. To download the snapshot to another location click Export.

 

To Restore a Snapshot:

  1. Log in to the LSM using an account with Administrator/SuperUser privileges.
  2. Access the Snapshot menu by browsing to System > Update > System Snapshots.
  3. Choose the snapshot you would like to restore from the "Current Snapshots" list and click the "Restore"
  4. Click OK to confirm the restore.

Note:  The restore will cause the IPS to reboot and will disrupt network traffic.

  
To Delete a Snapshot:

  1. Select the Snapshot and click "Delete".
  2. Confirm the delete by selecting "OK".
