Summary: Distributing a profile with *all filters enabled* to a device running TOS 3.8.3 or earlier, will result in a memory allocation issue which will cause the device to enter into Layer 2 Fallback. Recovery from this condition will require the device to be reset to factory defaults, then reconfigured. This issue was addressed in 3.8.4 and later, and it is recommend that customers upgrade to a newer version of TOS at the earliest opportunity.
To avoid the memory allocation error when running TOS 3.8.3 and earlier, do not enable all filters via manual overrides or Category Settings. As the DV continues to grow the risk of hitting the memory allocation issue, with less than all filters enabled, increases.
