Trend Micro Technical Support needs memory dump files to determine if the BSoD is related to Trend Micro products.

Do the following:

  1. On the keyboard, press the Windows + R buttons at the same time. This will open the Run window.
  2. Type "msconfig", then click OK to open the System Configuration window.
  3. Go to Boot tab, then click Advanced options...
  4. Tick Maximum Memory, and lower the memory usage, as less as possible.
  5. Click OK twice, then reboot the computer.

For XP-based OS

  1. Click Start, then right-click My Computer.
  2. Click Properties > Advanced.
  3. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.
  4. Set the Write Debug Information to create a Small Memory Dump.

For Windows Vista and Windows 7

  1. Click Start, then right-click Computer.
  2. Click Properties > Advanced system Settings.
  3. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.
  4. Set the Write Debugging Information to create a Small Memory Dump.

For Windows 8.1 and Windows 10

  1. Right-click the Start button, then select Control Panel.
  2. Click System and Security > System.
  3. Click Advanced system settings.
  4. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.
  5. Set the Write Debugging Information to create a Small Memory Dump.
 
When necessary, a Complete Memory Dump can be generated, but this option is disabled by default. Create the following registry key to enable the "Complete Memory Dump" option:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl]
"CrashDumpEnabled"=DWORD:00000001

Go to the following locations to collect the memory dump files:

  • Small Memory dump - C:\WINDOWS\Minidump directory
  • The Kernel and Complete Memory Dump - %SystemRoot%MEMORY.DMP
