The agent will attempt to connect to the Trend Micro ActiveUpdate servers on the Internet when either of the following conditions are met:

  • The agent has been given the privilege to download updates from the ActiveUpdate server.
  • The agent's primary update source (i.e. Update Agent) and the Security Server are both unavailable.

In this situation, the agent will connect to the ActiveUpdate server when Update Now is performed, or upon schedule if scheduled update is enabled.
