To disable the notification, Administrators need to do the following before upgrading the OfficeScan server:
- Log on to the OfficeScan management console.
- Do the following:
- OfficeScan XG: Go to Agents > Global Agent Settings > Agent Control.
- OfficeScan 11.0: Go to Agents > Global Agent Settings.
- Other versions: Go to Networked Computers > Global Client Settings.
- Under Alert Settings, disable the "Display a notification message if the client computer needs to restart to load a kernel driver" option.
- Save the settings to deploy the configuration to the clients. Wait for a few minutes for the deployment to complete. To disable "Notifying Agents of a Restart to Finish Cleaning Infected Files", please follow steps in the following link: Notifying Agents of a Restart to Finish Cleaning Infected Files.
Ask the users to reboot their machines. Otherwise, the OfficeScan client will continue to use the old driver modules. The new drivers installed during the upgrade will not be loaded until the machines are restarted. It is recommended to reboot the machines if any of the following features are enabled:
- OfficeScan firewall
- Web Reputation Service
- Behavior Monitoring
