Summary
SSL communication is used only between the browser and IIS (Web Server). The protocols do not have an impact on the OfficeScan management console.
When SSL communication is enabled in the OfficeScan website, it will use whichever SSL protocol version that the IIS server has. If the server and the client have multiple protocols in common, IIS will try to help secure the channel with one of the protocols that IIS supports.
The protocol that IIS uses is selected in the following order of preference:
- PCT 1.0
- SSL 3.0
- SSL 2.0
For more information on how to use only SSL 3.0, refer to the following Microsoft article: How to disable PCT 1.0, SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, or TLS 1.0 in Internet Information Services.
