To set the proxy setting of Firefox:

  1. Open a Firefox browser.
  2. Click Tools > Options.
  3. Go to Advanced > Network > Settings.

  4. Ensure the Use system proxy settings option is ticked.

To set the system proxy for Windows 7:

  1. Click Start > Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Network and Internet.

  3. Double-click Internet Options.

  4. Go to Connections > LAN settings.
  5. Tick the Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections) checkbox and then enter the correct proxy server address and port number.

  6. Tick the Bypass proxy server for local addresses checkbox and then click OK.
