To update the Pattern Files of the Security Server if it does not have Internet connection:

This method can be used only on Conventional Scan. You can Disable the Smart Scan on the Security Server web console globally or per specific group.
  • To disable globally: Administration > Global Settings > Desktop/Server > Under General Scan Settings, disable Smart Scan Service.
  • To disable per specific group: Devices > Select a group > Configure Policy > Scan Method > Conventional Scan.

  1. Go to another machine with an internet connection.
  2. In order to provide the patterns to the offline Security Server, create a shared folder that the server can access. Read access is sufficient.
  3. Open your browser and access this link: http://wfbs-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/server.ini
  4. Copy all the content of the webpage, and save it as server.ini to the shared folder.
  5. Change the update path of the offline Security Server from the dashboard by clicking Updates > Source > Server > Intranet location containing a copy of the current file.
