The Enforcement Agent only stores one password in the database. It does not store the customer's password history. If the customer uses an old password to install the Enforcement Agent and then changes the password, the first password will not be saved.
To resolve this issue, the TMWS admin should generate a new Enforcement Agent installer with a new uninstall password and then overwrite the current installation. The user should be able to uninstall Agent using the new password. You may follow these steps:
- Log in to the TMWS admin portal.
- Go to Administration > Service Deployment > Enforcement Agent.
- Go to the Customize tab.
- Configure the uninstall password and download the package.
- Unzip the download package, and then click the installation binary.
- Choose Modify when the installation package shows User Interface.
- After modification, uninstall the agent again using the password configured in Step 4.
If the Enforcement Agent was deployed using a Group Policy Object (GPO), replace the binary in the shared folder with the newly downloaded version. Restarting the computer will ensure that the configuration takes effect then uninstall using the newly configured password.
If the issue still persists, contact Trend Micro Technical Support for assistance and provide the config.dat file from any of the following folders:
- For 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\IWS Enforce Agent
- For 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\IWS Enforce Agent
