The issue happens because the Activation Code you used in renewing the license is the same as the old license.

The Activation Code has already been registered to the OfficeScan server. Specify a different Activation Code

To resolve the issue:

  1. Navigate to \TrendMicro\OfficeScan\PCCSRV\Private folder and look for the ofcserver.ini file.
  2. Stop the OfficeScan Master Service:
    1. On the Windows Server, from the Run prompt, type "services.msc" and press OK.

      This will bring up the list of Windows Services.

    2. Find the OfficeScan Master Service and right-click it, then choose "Stop".
  3. Back up the ofcserver.ini file.
  4. Find the following and manually remove the Activation code:

    [AV_LICENSE_INFO]
    AC=
    [DCS_LICENSE_INFO]
    AC=
    [AS_LICENSE_INFO]
    AC=

  5. Open PCCRSV\Private\ofcserver.ini in a text editor and remove the following configuration values.

    From "INI_SERVICE_MODEL_SECTION" section:

    ◦ All "PR_AV*"parameters;
    ◦ "AC_AntiVirus" and "LF_AntiVirus" parameters;
    ◦ All "PR_DCS*" parameters;
    ◦ "AC_DCS" and "LF_DCS" parameters;
    ◦ All "PR_AS*"parameters;
    ◦ "AC_AntiSpyware" and "LF_AntiSpyware" parameters;

  6. Start the OfficeScan Master Service:
    1. On the Windows Server, from the Run prompt, type "services.msc" and press OK.

      This will bring up the list of Windows Services.

    2. Find the OfficeScan Master Service and right-click it, then choose "Start".
  7. Go to the OfficeScan console.
  8. For OfficeScan 10.6, navigate to Administration > Product License.
    For OfficeScan 11.0 and XG, go to Administration > Settings > Product License.
  9. Select the name of the service and click New Activation Code.
  10. Enter the activation code and click Save.
  11. Click Update Information. The license should now be activated.

If the issue persists, do the following:

  1. Navigate to \TrendMicro\OfficeScan\PCCSRV\Private folder and look for the ofcserver.ini file.
  2. Stop the OfficeScan Master Service, and then back up the ofcserver.ini file.
  3. Submit the ofcserver.ini file to Trend Micro Technical Support.
    The customer representative will update your Activation Code in the server using the same version.

    The license should now be automatically activated.
