The build number of OSCE can be seen from both Server and Agent view.
Server view
- OSCE Server Console – Dashboard
This build number shows the newest updated hot fix or critical patch version of the OSCE.
The build number displayed here is the latest build installed on an OSCE agent, regardless if a critical patch, hot fix, or patch is installed. Administrators can compare it to all managed OSCE agents to know whether all agents are up-to-date.
- OSCE server hot fixes folder ~\PCCSRV\Backup\
The image below illustrates the deployment history in the Backup folder.
It is the recommended checkpoint for all the hot fixes and critical patches installed on the OSCE server. These folders contain all backup from each upgrade. It can also be used as a reference to know which critical patch, hot fix, or patch has been applied.
Agent view
- OSCE Agent Console
The OSCE agent gets the build number from ofcscan.ini and registry keys. It is identical with the critical patch, hot fix, or patch applied.
It provides the user a quick view of the current version on the OSCE agent.
- OSCE Agent hotfix_history.ini
The hotfix_history.ini file in the OSCE agent installation folder presents all critical patches, hot fixes, and patches applied, as well as provides a historical view of the critical patches, hot fixes, and patches applied on the OSCE agents.
Server view
- OSCE Server Console - About page
The build version refers to the build number of the ofcservice.exe file. If the ofcservice.exe is not modified in the critical patch or hot fix, the build number shown will not change. As a result, it does not indicate if the OSCE server is patched.
The About page build information displays the milestone build for general reference only.
- OSCE Version on TMCM console
The build number displayed here is also a milestone build which is synced with the OSCE server's About Page.
