Prior to the upgrade, Trend Micro recommends to upgrade to the latest build of the Full Disk Encryption agent. You can check the latest build from the Download Center.

Starting with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update release, Microsoft provides a new command line parameter /ReflectDrivers. It specifies the path to a folder that contains encryption drivers for a computer that has third-party encryption enabled. PnP will install these drivers so that when WinRE is brought up, the driver is installed and the upgrade can continue.

Trend Micro recommends to ensure all Windows updates are applied before upgrading the Operating System to Windows 10 Anniversary Update. It can reduce the possibility of encountering errors during the upgrade.

Contact Trend Micro Technical Support to request for the drivers.

  1. Copy the drivers into a folder. (example: C:\tmfdedrivers)
  2. Download the Windows 10 Update ISO from Microsoft.
  3. Run Setup.exe /ReflectDrivers [folder containing the encryption driver]

    For example:
    Setup.exe /ReflectDrivers C:\tmfdedrivers

  1. Confirm the FDE encryption drivers are located in the Drivers folder under the installation folder of Trend Micro Full Disk Encryption. The default folder is C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Full Disk Encryption\Drivers\.
  2. Download the Windows 10 Update ISO from Microsoft.
  3. Run Setup.exe /ReflectDrivers "C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Full Disk Encryption\drivers"
