Summary
When attempting to install the Deep Security Agent (DSA) on a Windows 10 machine (upgraded from Windows 7), the following message is encountered:
Product: Trend Micro Deep Security Agent -- Error 1935. The same entry also appears on the Event Viewer of the affected machine.
The issue is caused by the version of Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (e.g. 8.0.50727.9268), which does not match the one used by Deep Security Agent MSI installer (Build 8.0.50727.6195).
To address the issue:
- On the Control Panel, uninstall the Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable instances that are different from the version used by the DSA MSI installer.
- Download the Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable that matches the build number of DSA MSI installer, and then install it on the machine.
Make sure to select the bit version based on your operating system.
- Run the Deep Security Agent installer again.
