First and foremost, Trend Micro does not suggest - nor officially support - running OfficeScan/Apex One concurrently with another 3rd party anti-virus solution. The likelihood of the solutions using similar or even the same hooking mechanisms into the operating system may cause a variety of issues which the product was not designed for.
Trend Micro does support OfficeScan/Apex One running with other non-AV security endpoint solutions such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR).
However, due to some 3rd-party solutions having different driver implementations or hooking mechanisms, customers could encounter interoperability issues which may cause issues such as, but not limited to, system instability or crashes.
To help mitigate against these scenarios, Trend Micro strongly recommends that customers who have multiple security endpoint solutions properly configure exclusions or trusted processes on both OfficeScan/Apex One and the 3rd-party software to minimize potential interference.
If the customer still encounters interoperability issues with the proper exclusions in place, please contact Trend Micro Technical Support for further assistance. Please note that in cases with 3rd party software, the root cause may also need collaborative effort with the vendor to investigate, which adds to the complexity of the issue and may have an effect on timely resolution.
