Below are the TMEMS Spam Levels and their corresponding Spam Threshold values:

  • Lowest: 10.0
  • Low: 8.0
  • Moderately Low: 7.0
  • Moderately High: 5.0
  • High: 4.5
  • Highest: 4.0

If the spam score assigned to an email by TMASE meets or exceeds the threshold value configured in the spam policy then the policy will trigger and the configured action in the policy will be taken.

The spam score assigned by TMASE and the threshold configured in the spam policy can be seen in the X-TMASE-Result header inserted into a mail. The header has the format:

X-TMASE-Result: <TrendType>-<Spam Score>-<Spam Threshold>

For example, the header below indicates a spam score of 5.534 and a spam threshold of 4.0, so this message will have triggered the spam policy.
X-TMASE-Result: 11-5.534000-4.000000

The spam score may sometimes be a negative value, in this case there will be 2 negative signs before the spam score:
X-TMASE-Result: 10--5.534000-4.000000

Increasing or decreasing the sensitivity level of the Spam rules does not affect how TMASE will score the scanned mails. However, it can help on better spam detection as you increase it because emails with lower scores will now trigger the spam rules.
