The UMH component used by several Trend Micro endpoint and server protection products is responsible for some advanced features such as ransomware protection.  Trend Micro is aware of a potential issue where customers who apply the recently released Microsoft Windows 11 (KB5014019 and/or KB5014697 ) or Windows Server 2022 (KB5013944 and/or KB5014678 ) patches  and reboot would then find that the Trend Micro UMH driver would stop.
 

Product Update Schedule

Trend Micro is currently working to address this issue with an updated UMH driver, and has tentatively planned to provide product-specific updates on the following dates:

Customers who have deployed Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 and currently use the advanced ransomware protection options of their product are advised to temporarily hold off updating Windows patches until the new UMH drivers are available.

Customers who have already applied the optional Windows patch may either uninstall the patch temporarily or contact Trend Micro support for further assistance with a UMH debug module.
