To add external USB devices to the Approved List:

  1. Determine the Manufacturer, Product ID and Serial Number of the USB Device. Use either of the following methods:
    1. Open Terminal.
    2. Run the command:
      system_profiler SPUSBDataType
    3. Output should be as follows:

    1. Open the System Information app.
    2. Under Hardware, go to USB.
    3. Information should be listed as follows:

  2. Configure the Approved List. Follow the steps for the product that you are using below:
    1. Login to Apex One.
    2. Go to the Plug-ins tab.
    3. Under Apex One (Mac), click on Manage Program.
    4. Go to Agents > Agent Management > Settings > Device Control Settings.
    5. Input the details collected earlier on the provided fields.

    6. Apply the policy to the agents depending on preference.
    1. Login to Apex One as a Service.
    2. Go to Policies > Policy Management.
    3. Change product to Apex One (Mac).
    4. Select or Create a Policy.
    5. Go to Device Control under Advanced Threat Protection.
    6. Enter the details on the respective fields.

    7. Deploy the policy.
