Software upgrade to DDI 6.5 (a version coming by the end of 2022, as per the current schedule) or a higher version will not be supported by the following hardware models:
- DDI 250 (Dell R420)
- DDI 500 (Dell R420)
- DDI 1000 (Dell R420)
- DDI 4000 (Dell R720)
Regarding the support policy for software upgrade, refer to this article: Deep Discovery product family hardware warranty validity.
To determine the DDI hardware model, do the following:
- Open the DDI Console.
- Go to Help > About.
If the DDI hardware model is not available in the About page, proceed with the following.
- Check the front panel of the DDI appliance, it might display Dell Hardware model such as “PowerEdge R420”.
- If Dell model name is not displayed in the front panel, visit Dell’s website, and input the service tag. The page will show the Dell model name.
The service tag can be found in iDRAC or a pullout tag labelled as “EST” which is located in the front panel of DDI appliance. For more information on how to locate the service tag, refer to Dell's Article: Locate the Service Tag/Serial Number/Product ID/PSNT for your Infrastructure Products
Customers who do not wish to update their hardware can continue using above DDI models running version 6.2 which will be sustained until notified.
Recommended Action
Trend Micro offers 3 or 5-year hardware warranty for most countries. To check the warranty, visit Dell’s website and input the service tag. As most of the above DDI hardware models are now out of warranty, any affected customer with hardware out of warranty has the option to order Deep Discover Inspector hardware replacement with the most current shipping model.
