Through Customer HTTP Proxy Server

If Windows endpoints require a proxy server to connect to external networks in the customer's environment, then make sure the endpoints can communicate with Vision One through proxy by setting up the XBC agent with the steps in this document: Endpoint Basecamp Deployment with Proxy.

Additional Information

  1. Endpoint Basecamp checks the system proxy settings for each login user when it tries to set up a connection.

However, if all the Windows users are logged off, Endpoint Basecamp (user-mode process) would not be able to loop the system proxy settings for each Windows user. It would not adopt the system proxy (e.g. IE proxy setting).

Endpoint Basecamp also supports user input proxy settings with initial Endpoint Basecamp.

  2. Endpoint Basecamp agent will check the system proxy by looping all the logon users. If no one is logged on, it will not be able to get the proxy setting.
Endpoint Basecamp only supports HTTP proxies and does not support the use of proxy credentials, specifically:
  • Basic / Digest / NTLM authentication in proxy.
  • PAC type of proxy.

Through Service Gateway forward proxy

If customers have set up Service Gateway in their environment, deploying the Endpoint Basecamp with Service Gateway Forward Proxy is also a choice. For more details about how to configure it, please refer to: Service Gateway Forward Proxy Configuration .
