  • Does the Service Gateway support time zone change?
Following the VMWARE ESXI server, only UTC is supported, and the Service Gateway does not support changing of time zone. Meanwhile, the Service Gateway supports the configuration of NTP server and syncs the time with the NTP server. Below are the steps to configure the NTP server:
  1. Login on the Service Gateway with clish.
  2. Input “enable” to enter privilege mode.
  3. Input “configure NTP <NTP server address>”, Service Gateway will immediately sync with NTP server.
  • Why are changes in the IP/Endpoint not shown immediately in the Service Gateway UI?
We have a scheduled task to get the Service Gateway appliance name and IP. The change will take effect every 5 minutes.
  • Could the Service Gateway appliance change the system resource?

  • How do I check the Service Gateway's network usage rate?

    To check the Service Gateway's network usage rate, refer to the statistics provided by the Service Gateway Forward Proxy Service in Trend Micro Vision One. Here are the steps:

    Note that the specific steps may vary depending on the version of Service Gateway you are using.

    1. Log in to the Trend Micro Vision One console.
    2. Go to the Service Gateway Management screen.
    3. Click on the name of the Service Gateway which you want to check the network usage rate.
    4. In the details view, you will find the statistics related to network usage:
      • "Network Traffic - Internet" is the network usage rate from the Service Gateway to the Internet.
      • "Network Traffic - Local Area Network (LAN)" is the network usage rate from internal agents to the Service Gateway.
  • Can service Gateway have two NIC interfaces configured - one for "Production" that is the one that have all the traffic, and another for "Gestion"?

    No, the Service Gateway does not support this function.
    You can configure two NICs for the Service Gateway, but will not be able to distinguish which NIC goes through the "production" or the "Gestation" traffic.

  • Does VMWare hardware upgrade have an impact on Service Gateway?

    There should be no impact to the performance of the Service Gateway.
    Before performing the upgrade activity, turn off the Service Gateway and VMWare hardware, and take a snapshot of the Service Gateway.

  • Does Service Gateway 2.0 support ESXi 8.0?

    From Service Gateway 2.0.18, it supports VMware ESXi 8 deployment.

  • Can I install my own third-party applications on the Service Gateway?

    No, you cannot install your own third-party applications.

  • Can I install a third-party application to monitor the service gateway resources usage?

    No, you cannot install a third-party application on the Service Gateway to monitor its resources usage, but you can find the resources usage from the Trend Vision One console.
     

  • What is the version of Linux for Service Gateway version 3.x?

    Service Gateway 3.x uses Rocky Linux 9.2 and Linux kernel 5.14 while Service Gateway 2.x uses CentOS 7 as base image. This is the most significant change as Rocky Linux includes a lot of security patches after CentOS 7's EOL.
