For customers that are using Deep Security to protect Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, and Windows Server 2008 SP2 we have published updated guidance to ensure successful adoption of new versions of the Deep Security agent signed only with SHA-2 .

Trend Micro will continue to deliver protection and honor the support dates for the following agent version / platform combinations:

Windows Platform

Deep Security Agent Version

Windows Server 2003 SP2 (32-bit and 64-bit)

10.0

Windows XP (32-bit and 64-bit)

10.0

Windows Server 2000 SP3 or SP4 (32-bit)

9.6

Windows XP Embedded (32-bit)

9.6

This includes security pattern and rules updates for the full duration of the support period.

Deep Security Agent software updates will continue to be provided for Windows 2003 and Windows 2000 to address support issues and vulnerabilities as defined by our life cycle policy
Given that Microsoft does not provide a supported SHA-2 security update for Windows 2003 and Windows 2000 we will limit future changes on these platforms to only those components that do not require SHA-2 signing.

Customers who do not have the minimum OS build/patch of Microsoft Windows beginning mid-February of 2023 may encounter errors where the Trend Micro security agent service would fail to start after applying an updated binary signed with ACS. For more details refer to this article.
