Uninstalling the Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS) Security Server

Summary

This article lists the steps on how to uninstall WFBS using the Windows Control Panel. However, uninstalling the WFBS Security Server does not uninstall agents. Administrators have different options to uninstall the agents:

To uninstall the Security Server:

  1. On the computer where you installed the Security Server, click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Select Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security Standard or Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security Advanced, and then click the Uninstall button.

  3. Click Next.

  4. The Master Uninstaller, which is the server uninstallation program, will prompt for the administrator password. Enter the administrator password, then click Next.

  5. A message will appear, stating that the Security Server has been uninstalled, click Finish.

  6. If prompted, restart the computer and then manually delete the Security Server files and folder.

If the procedure fails, refer to Manually uninstalling the Security Server of Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS).

To uninstall the Security Agent:

  1. On the computer where you want to uninstall the Security Agent, click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Select Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security Agent, then click Uninstall.

  3. When prompted, provide the uninstallation password, and then click Next.

    • The password prompt will only appear if it was configured.
    • If you do not know the password, cancel the uninstallation and reset the Agent uninstallation password. Refer to this article: Updating the uninstall password of the WFBS Agent. After resetting the Security Agent password, return to Step 1 of this solution.
     

    The Uninstaller will start removing the agent files.

  4. A confirmation message will appear once the uninstall process is complete. Click Finish.

  5. If prompted, restart the computer and then manually delete the Security Agent files and folder.
