Critical Patch Build 2471 has been repacked to Critical Patch 2477 to fix the following issues that occur after applying CP2471 on x86 platform:
- The Security Agent keeps restarting and automatically rolls back to the previous build during an update.
- The Security Agent displays a "343 0xe0e10b0d" popup error message when users attempt to perform a fresh installation of the Security Agent.
These issues occur because Rootkit Common Module (RCM) version 5.50.1055 may cause inconsistencies between Microsoft Windows SSDT table and third-party drivers when:
- Users do not restart the computer immediately after updating ntoskrnl.exe during Windows update on the Windows XP platform.
- A third-party driver, aksfridge.sys, hooks an SSDT table in the Windows kernel.
The Critical Patch 2477 enables the Security Agent to ignore the inconsistencies between the affected Windows SSDT table and third-party drivers. This ensures that users can successfully update the Security Agent or perform a fresh installation of the Security Agent.
