Debug Module
When a customer contacts Trend Micro Technical Support, Trend Micro will provide the debug module to isolate the issue. The customer then provides the test results of the debug module. Trend Micro will assess the results and verify if the debug module is effective. After passing our internal testing, this will be considered as a Hot Fix.
The Hot Fix will then be included in the “Product Patch” and it will be available to the public.
If you have received the debug module, submit your test results to Trend Micro Technical Support for analysis.
Hot Fix
Hot Fixes are downloadable code fixes made to address specific issues.
When a customer contacts Trend Micro Technical Support, the issue is examined and analyzed. If it is evaluated that it can be resolved using a hot fix, Trend Micro will provide the hot fix.
Hot Fixes are not released to the general public. However, Trend Micro collects these Hot Fixes and then later on are consolidated into a Patch or Service Pack and are made available to the public.
A Hot Fix is created in the environment where the latest Patch is applied. Because of this, it is strongly recommended that you apply the Patch before applying the Hot Fix.
For more information please refer to the Patch description below.
Critical Patch / Security Patch
Critical/Security Patches are provided to fix urgent problems. Since this is a package for a specific problem, it will not include other corrections. However, if multiple corrections are identified for a problem in the same period, these corrections may be included.
Critical/Security Patches will be included in the Patch and will be available to the public.
It is recommended that customers apply the Critical/Security Patch if you are experiencing such problems.
A Critical/Security Patch is created in the environment where the latest Patch is applied. For this reason, it is strongly recommended that you apply the Patch before applying the Critical/Security Patch.

Patch
A Patch is a program that can be accessed by the general public. It includes cumulative fixes for known problems (Hot Fix, Critical Patch, and Security Patch). However, a Patch may not include certain fixes because of timing issues. And sometimes new parameters and features may be added.
It is recommended that you apply the latest Patch before applying the Hot Fix, Critical Patch, and Security Patch. The latest Patch should be applied as soon as possible.
You can download the latest patch for your product from the Trend Micro Download Center.
Service Pack
In addition to the cumulative fixes for known issues, the Service Pack also includes behavior and feature changes in the product. Service Packs are available to the public.
The Service Pack comprehensively resolves known issues and Trend Micro strongly recommends installing the Service Pack.
You can download the latest Service Pack versions of your product from the Trend Micro Download Center.
