To configure DDAN 5.1 with SMID 5.6:

  1. Register to DDAN:
    1. Open the smconf.nsf configuration file.
    2. Navigate to Configuration > Deep Discovery Advisor Settings and create a Deep Discovery Advisor.

      ”Create

    3. Supply the following information below from items 1-3. Item 4 is optional.

      ”DDA

  2. Run the following command on the SMID console:

    Load smddtas
    Tell smddtas status

The following screenshot will indicate that your connection is OK:

    ”Connection is OK.”

  3. Enable the following features:
    1. Go to Security Risk Scan tab and enable the virus scan.
    2. Enable APT Prevention Filter > Suspicious files detected by Advanced Threat Scan engine, or choose “Files with specified types”.

When two rules are configured with virus scan, the mail might be scanned twice if the high priority rule is not triggered or its action is set to "pass". So it is suggested to activate the Advanced Persistent Threats (APT) prevention filter in the Mail Scan rule instead of creating a separate rule.
